Moving & Handling Training / Learning Course
The Moving & Handling Training Course will cover all of the modules that are currently required by the Commission of Social Care Inspection who are the Governing body of the Care Industry.
The training course instructor will cover all of respective law’s that Moving & Handling are to be compliant with. The training course objectives are very clear and will break down the responsibilities of those as an employee and of an employer under the Health and Safety at Work act 1974.
The instructor will discuss the make up of the spine and of individual vertebra, this will be demonstrated so that people can identify the risk associated with moving and handling when subsequently bending, twisting and stretching. The practical session will take up a large part of the training course where techniques are demonstrated. Each candidate will be expected to practice and demonstrate that they are competent in handling people before certification. There are over ten moves that are demonstrated using slide sheets, a transfer belt and transfer boards all of the moves are under the guide lines of the Royal College of Nursing.
The training course will be presented using a Microsoft Power Point presentation on a projector screen, a video and other training aids that are all supplied on the day by the course instructor, hand outs are also supplied along with certification.
